Interapy

Assignment

Design a game element that fits our current online burn out therapy.

Product

This was my graduation assignment. I first went deeply into the therapy and its goals. From there I designed a game that supports the current therapy. The design exists of four levels, which starts with an abstract level and comes closer to reality with every level. From the design, a working prototype was created and testedwith the clients. Click in the picture to play the game. Further research should show wheather the game increases the effect of the therapy. The first measurement done by a student from the University of Amsterdam shows a hopefull prospect.

Improve the hospitality in a self chosen location with a product.

Product

Together with a team of five studens we chose to desgin the new generation airport trolley. It contains functions such as a boarding pass scanner which takes care that the traveler arrives on time to the gate and a navigation system that helps you to find your way to the self chosen activities. Schiphol offers a lot for the traveler, but the traveler is mostly only focussing on being on time to the gate. The trolley should take away this burden.

Together with Pieter Molenaar I worked on the design. Normally the installation should be implemented in the bedroom of the target group, but for this model we chose to put the users in a sitting position. This makes it more accessible for the visitor. The two chairs make it possible for two visitors to participate at the same time.

New machine tea experience

Client

Dilmah

Assignment

Find a new way of offering machine tea for Dilmah.

Product

I focussed on redesigning the current tea cup. During the analysis I mentioned that users didn't liked the ready-made machine tea and that using a tea bag caused a big mess. In my redesign I made a transparent cup with a hollow bottom. The outer cup takes care that the user can hold the cup without burning his hands. The tea bag can be placed in the outer cup and thereafter the inner cup should be placed. No more mess with a garbage can, and good advertising for Dilmah.

New generation audio conference call

Client

Alcatel-Lucent

Assignment

Make a redesign of our current audio conference call module.

Product

Together with five students we worked on the redesign. Alcatel indicated that they would prefer to keep it an audio module instead of video, while there is still a need for that. During user testing we found that it was confusing for callers to distinguish the different voices at the other side of the line. Therefore we designed a new module that visualize the voices with lines, so that the user knows who is talking.
